the payoff...

good god almighty...mr tollett @ Goldenvoice never ceases to amaze. have to digest and think about this & start to see the overlaps...number of things i've seen before, but enough new & cool to justify...
also, late additions have been know to happen, but for now: Let the fun begin!

  1. I'd love to see Airborne Toxic Event, MBV, & the Hold Steady again, TVotR again. I could definitely sit through Morrissey & the Killers & maybe YYY if the heat wasn't as nuts as it was when we went.

Oh wait, it will be YEARS before I make it to another concert.

Amy Winehouse stoned in that heat has the potential for disaster, if you're into that kind of thing.

    Paul McCartney is just wacky.

  2. Oooooh... Amy Winehouse should be a nice trainwreck.

Paul McCartney and The Cure? That's like throwing a mixer and inviting a bunch of goths and hippies and serving mint juleps or something.

Amanda Palmer and Morrissey though, that's well worth it.

    Have fun!

  3. hey miss smarty pants...any idea where robert smith stole most of the basslines for 'kiss me kiss me kiss me'
    love,
    the doc...

saw winehouse in 07, (pre.trainwreck), w/dap kings carrying her (literally), she was nervous, but good...
Morrissey likes him some big stage...can't wait to see...
i'm still actually trying to come to grips w/the breadth of the lineup...too much fun.

    thanks for the love...

  4. Hey man, I'm talking about the fanbase. I don't know any Cure/McCartney fans.

I have a strange feeling that Superchunk once played at our corporate Christmas party in Santa Cruz. I could be wrong tho.

  5. touche...i'm sensitive from an LA Times piece questioning his relevance, and to me it's like, cue up 'helter skelter', party's over...
superchunk rules, and that is one of the great subheadliners that i missed the first run through, buried in the fine print. okkervil river is one of my favorite US bands right now.

sidenote: any place that hired you & booked superchunk for a party is, indeed, a place to be reckoned with!!!

  6. Well, it could easily have been Superhunk or Superpunk... it was Super something and that rings a bell. Either way, great party but it was before the bubble burst.
